She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lashley and Julia Lashley (Hoffman); her son Earl Cates; and her sons-in-law, Thomas Stimpson and Ronnie Cox.
She is survived by: her husband Earl Cates; her children, Jerry Cates (Oy) of Kaiser, Missouri, Louwanna Boom (Terry Berry) of Osage Beach, Rae "Pat" Stimpson of Temple and Linda Sue Cox of Fenton, Missouri; and her siblings, Joi Dunn of Memphis, Julia Fay "Jupie" Joiner of Dolton and Phillip Lashley of Jonesboro, Arkansas.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
