He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Mahoney and Mildred Mahoney; his brother Patrick Mahoney; and his wife Patricia Miller Mahoney. He is survived by: his children, Scott Mahoney (Paula), Tammy Doughty (Sean), Karen Mahoney and Lela Hunter; his former wife Susan Mahoney; his siblings, Daniel Mahoney and Mary Ellen Gumbert (Terry); his grandchildren, Matthew Mahoney, Sheana Cawley (Mitchell), Derrick Mahoney (Shannon) and Elizabeth Doughty; and his close friend Donny Hunter. He is also survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
