He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Williams and Martha Ann Williams (Robinett); his wife Vera B. Collins of Ava; his children, Ronnie Joe Williams and Pamela Cantrell; and his siblings, Jim Williams and Dessie Hubert.

He is survived by: his sons, Glenn Welch (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Bruce Welch (Connie) of Urbana and Melvin Williams of Kansas City; and his daughter-in-law Janie Williams of Orrick. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
