Frank Cherrito Obituary
Frank Robert Cherrito Sr. 63 of Oregon, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Lake of the Ozarks. Frank was born November 10, 1957 to Joseph and Barbara (Holton) Cherrito in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his mother Barbara Folsom, sister, Linda Caldwell, (Ron). Brothers, Joseph and Carl Cherrito.
Frank graduated from Parkhill High school in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 19, 1976, Frank married his high school sweetheart, Marcia Riley at the Parkhill Christian church, where he was also baptized. They raised three children, Charles (Sonny) Cherrito (Ericka) Palm Bay, FL. Frank Cherrito Jr. Shawnee KS., Angela Cherrito Harrup (Jonathan) Gladstone, MO.
Frank worked as a maintenance supervisor for United States Gypsum Company in North Kansas City, Missouri, and retired after 34 years of service. He was a highly qualified welder and mechanic. He was an artist, lover of music, and on occasion, would sing old tunes to a few lucky listeners. Frank loved boating, fishing, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and always looked forward to playing Santa at Christmas gatherings.
He was particularly proud of his children, and adored his five granddaughters. Frank enjoyed Civil War reacting with his wife and children and was a very patriotic man. He loved his country and was proud to fly the Stars and Stripes. Those who knew him loved him, and he will be missed by all. Left to carry on his legacy is his wife, Marcia, of fourty-five years.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Lena Cherrito, Hugh and Justina Holton. Father, Joseph Cherrito Sr., Stepmother, Joann Cherrito, Father in law, Charles F Riley Jr. Niece, Ashley Loraine and many aunts and uncles. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 21, 2021, at First Christian Church, 204 S Washington St, Oregon, MO 64473.
