He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oscar Watkins and Lillie Irene Bowers; his siblings, Johnny Watkins, Larry Watkins, Junior Watkins, James Jackson Watkins, Linda Mitchem and Jean Mitchem; and his great grandchild Ameila Metcalf.
He is survived by: his children, Don Watkins Jr., Darin Watkins (Kim), J. R. Watkins (Leslie), Diane Metcalf (late Chris) and Crystal Parks (Jeff); his sister Pam Wefenstette; and his grandchildren, Josh Stanley, Jim Eftink, Brandi Daughterty, Christopher Metcalf, Dustin Parks, Shannon Metcalf, Desiree Mansker, Lindsey Seyer, Kelsey Aldridge, Logan Watkins, Zack Watkins, Landon Watkins and Lilly Watkins. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
