He was predeceased by: his former wife Pat; his parents, Carl Lemmermann and Edna Lemmermann (Sickmeyer); and his siblings, Gladys and Edward.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Evelyn Kerbs; his children, Sherri Lemmermann, Walt Lemmermann, Jr., Suzanne Hough (Tom), Reverend Scott Lemmermann (Jean) and Marthe Theodore (Colin); his grandchildren, Tom, John Hough, Aaron and Hannah Lemmermann; and his sister-in-law Lois Lemmermann Bigelow. He is also survived by four nieces.
