She was predeceased by: her grandson Justin; her husband Dr. Richard E. Ernst Sr.; and her parents, Louis and Marie. She is survived by: her children, Richard Jr. Ernst, Steve Ernst, Kathie Ernst and Christie Kovacs. She is also survived by grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the above organizations or to Meramec Community College Art Department.
