He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Kalmes and Eleanor Kalmes; and his sister-in-law Carol Chazen Friedman (Harvey P.). He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Chazen Kalmes; his sister Janet Schneider (late Jerry); his niece Laura Kreder (Rich); his great-niece Kayla; his great-nephew Josh Kreder; his friends, Bill and Mary Alexander; and also, Jarrett, Joseph and Carly.

Memorial contributions preferred to the Small Animal Hospital at the MU College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbia, MO or Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
