He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Fitter and Lillian Fitter; and his sibling Irv Fitter. He is survived by: his wife Linda Fitter; his children, Jodi (David Engelbrecht), Carrie (Mike Faris), Craig (Stephanie Fitter) and Amy (Christian Sikorski); his grandchildren, Emma, Jacob Engelbrecht, Grace, Julia Faris, Jack, Josh Fitter, Harrison and Alexa Sikorski; and his brother Ben Fitter.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in Jack's honor.
