She was predeceased by: her parents, David Yawitz and Leona Yawitz; her husband Harvey Mizes; and her sister Audrey Birenbaum. She is survived by: her niece Diane Breslow; her nephew Rob Birenbaum; her son Barry Mizes; her grandchildren, AJ Mizes, Laura Mizes Smith and Bennett Sher; and her great grandchildren, Creighton Smith, Isabel Sher and Henry Sher.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to National Council of Jewish Women or Tidewell Hospice.
