He is survived by: his brother-in-law Philip Chanen (late Audrey); his children, Rabbi Hanan Balk (Barbara), Mitchell Balk (late Sheila), Lynnsie Kantor (Doug Gilberg) and Carla Rhodes (Michael); his grandchildren, Aviva Needle (Aryeh), Eliana Moore (Spencer), Shoshana Balk, Sharona Balk, Leora Lesher (Rabbi Shmuel), Rabbi Willie Balk (Estee), Dena Balk (Judd Cohen), Nava Kantor (Yoni Blumberg), Eitan Kantor, Noam Kantor, Eva Rhodes, Neeli Portal (Rabbi Eli) and Aliza Rhodes; his son-in-law Dr. David Kantor; and his wife Rita.
