She was predeceased by : her parents, Eugene Moore and Maxine Moore (Prue); and her son-in-law Gregory Behrends. She is survived by : her husband William Christopher Markes; her children, Lois Behrends of Kingsville, Kary Markes of Independence, Cindee Markes, Chris Markes of Independence, Danny Markes of Independence, Gerry Markes (Nicki) of Kirbyville, Patrick Markes of Leighton and Vicki Markes of Odessa; and her sisters, Linda Rucker and Michelle Buss of Kansas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Catholic Church.
