He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, John Simons and Anna Simons (Chernick) of Whittier, California.; his sister Beverly Folliott (Lynn); his children, Stephanie (Shane), Tabitha, Katelin, Alyssa and Jonathan; his former life partner Lillian Simons (Wyman); his stepsons, Anthony Easter and Andrew Hurst of Odessa; his wife Amber Hurst (Hopper); and also Christine Simons (Quick).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Program or the Wolf Wildlife Conservation Association.
