He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Sommerer and Teresa Sommerer (Earhardt); and his siblings, Elizabeth, Lillian, Bud and Felix.

He is survived by: his wife Marylynn Sommerer; his children, Pete, Micky (Tammy Sommerer), Derek (Maxine Sommerer), Alicia (Shorty Carpenter), Michael (Lizette Gilmore), Lori (Dan Bathe), Justin (Amanda Clutter) and Debbie Hauser; his grandchildren, Kristen, Brad Wehner, Melissa and Chris Ducos; his son Glen; his grandchildren, Glen David and Randee Cary; his son Jim; his grandchildren, Andrew, Martha Sommerer, Courtney, Drew Irvine, Penny, Nathan Watson, Lisa, Randon Leathers and John Green; his son Jerry; his grandchildren, Anthony Barker, Brooke Barker and Alexis Barker; his daughter Samantha Edwards; his grandsons, Joshua Peterson and William Edwards; and his siblings, Marjorie, Vernon, Beatrice, Cleopha, Lolly, Naomi and Lloyd.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
