He is survived by: his parents, Chalen Carter Sr. and Helen Agnes Douglas (Yale); his wife Leslie; his stepson Timothy "Timmy" Johnson; his children, Carrie, Bill, Nancy, Karen and Kelly; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Ale Kolb, Jeremy, Sofia Kolb, John, Maria Kolb, Sarah, Kyle Entrop, Jacob Douglas and Kait Dowling. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
