He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Kathryn Swofford (Hooper); his brother Robbie Swofford; his son James Read Swofford of Kansas City, Missouri; his father Ronald Martin Swofford of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and his siblings, Chris Swofford (Kristine) of Raymore, Andrew Swofford of Missouri, Rhonda Jackson (David) of Pleasant Hill, Angela Lees (Scott) of Pleasant Hill, Crystal Fleener of Harrisonville, Debra Elkins (Ryan) of Gravette and Jennifer Swofford of Green Forest, Arkansas. He was also cherished by step-brothers, step-sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made by cash or check to the NKC Schools Education Foundation (in memory of Jim Swofford in the memo line) and mailed to 2000 NE 46th Street, Kansas City, MO 64116.
