He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Votaw and Betty Votaw-Bennett; his wife Wendy Allison Votaw; and his grandparents, Emerson, Ida Votaw, Steve and Katherine Knizat.
He is survived by: his siblings, Kenneth Votaw of Santa Teresa and Carolyn Smith of West Blocton, Alabama; his nieces and nephews, Brad, Jeff, Shaila and Sabrina; his close friend Linda Johnson; and his pet Joey.
