He was predeceased by: his parents, Scelbert Rantz and Ellen Jones Rantz; and his siblings, Darrel Rantz and Cleta Dickens. He is survived by: his wife Mary Rantz; his sons, Ronnie Rantz (Cindy) of Nixa and Dennis Rantz (Robyn) of Reeds Spring, Missouri.; and his siblings, Larry Rantz of Springfield, Ted Rantz of Reeds Spring, Missouri. and Esther Watts of Ozarks.
