He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonnie Hacker and Ralph Hacker; and his brother David. He is survived by: his brother Dirk; his daughters, Kirsten Hacker, Adrienne Pahl, Jessica Hutchins and Chelsea Hacker; and his grandchildren, Gabriel, Elena, Annika Schlarb, Greta, Evangeline Pahl, Ewan Hutchins and Samantha Chambers.
Douglas completed his internship via Tulane at Charity Hospital.
