He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Fixsen and Bertha Fixsen (Darnhauer); and his siblings, Gayle Fixsen, William Fixsen and Jeri Schmid.
He is survived by: his former wife Michelle Gabel of Nixa, MO; his son Jason Fixsen (Christie); his grandson Ethan of Beloit, KS; and his siblings, Marilyn Lohay (James) of Prescott, AZ, Richard Fixsen of Highland, CA and Dr. Dean Fixsen (Karen) of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
