He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Brown and Beulah Gastineau Brown Sr.; his former wife Dororthy; his son David Brown; and his siblings, Lee Roy Brown (Wilma) and Susie James.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Brown of New Wells; his son Richard Brown (Kellie) of New Wells; his stepchildren, Will Rogers of Cape Girardeau and Jamie Steger (Luke Basler) of New Wells; his grandchildren, Brittany Simpher (Brandon), Harley Ledbetter, Oren Basler, Arlie Basler and Konnor Basler; his great grandchildren, Shiloh and Rhys Simpher; his brothers, Elmer Brown (late Shirley) of Scott City, Charles Brown (June) of Jackson and Guy Brown (Sandy) of Gordonville; and his brother-in-law Jim James (late Susie).

The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research hospital, American Cancer Society or Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
