He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Harris and Ada Jane Welch Harris; his wife Sharon Lynn Phillips; his daughter Kyle Kluesner; and his siblings, Bob, Jimmy Harris, Mary Lee Sagady, Anna Mae Pobst and Wilma Smith.
He is survived by: his children, David Harris Jr. (Joni) of New Madrid, Jason Harris (Jessica) of Ft. Mohave, Arizona and Teri Bowman (Bill) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and his brother Joe Harris of Flint, Michigan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
