He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Gerdes and Nelda Gerdes (Althage). He is survived by: his wife Connie Gerdes; his son Eric Gerdes; his close friend Sherry Byram of Gerald, Missouri; his children, Julie Westermeyer (Todd) of New Haven, Missouri and Doug Gerdes (Michelle) of New Haven, Missouri; his grandchildren, Dalton Gerdes, Emma, Jacob Gerdes, Ellie and Ryan Westermeyer; his brother Roy Gerdes (Janeial) of New Haven; and his sisters-in-law, Diane Gerdes of New Haven, Carol Meyer (Jim) of Rosebud, Missouri and Peggy Borcherding (Bob) of Gerald. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
