He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Horstmann and Ella Horstmann (Dahl); his wife Hilda Edna Hahne; and his siblings, Ervin, Ralph Horstmann, Irene Schinzing and Alice Walkenhorst.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Horstmann (Susan) of Wildwood, Missouri, Sue Rosa (Jerry) of Newburg, Missouri, Sheryl Schaeg (Keith) of Wildwood, Missouri, Don Horstmann of New Melle, Missouri, Greg Horstmann (Karen) of Wildwood, Missouri and Stacy Heckmann (John) of Wildwood, Missouri; his sister-in-law Darlene Schneider of Swiss; and his grandchildren, Lisa, Rochelle, Jr., Adam, Kelly, Sara, Kyle, Colin, Nick, Allison, Grant, Trevor and Megan. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to St. James Evangelical Church or St. James Cemetery.
