He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Amrein and Mildred Amrein (Teckemeier); his wife Carol Amrein; his siblings, James Amrein and Mary Upton; his son Charles Amrein; and his grandchildren, Jeanette Downey, Brittany Downey and Neil Amrein.

He is survived by: his children, Jessica Wiser (Mike) of New Haven, Julie Amrein (Olan Broch) of New Haven, Kevin Amrein (Elizabeth) of New Haven, Linda Lutes of New Haven, Ed Amrein (Kathy) of Fenton and Carol Dotson of Hermann; his siblings, Elaine Bueneman (Jerry) of Wright City and David Amrein of Montgomery City; his grandchildren, Michael Wiser (Kati Davis), Luke Wiser (Tori Eckerle), Brandy Bugg (Nathan), Christina Lockhart (Jeff), Elisha Stout (Michael), Kimberly Kallbrier (Sean), Nicole Novak, Thomas Amrein (Sarah), Stacy Jones, Christopher Jones, Susan Mitchell, Terrance Amrein, Robert Amrein, Crystal Amrein, Lee Downey, John Downey, Jennifer Allmann, Tyler Dotson, Desirae Dotson and Kelsey Daffron; and his close friend Carol Alexander of New Haven. He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
