She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Jasper and Alice Hayes (Sloas); her brother Michael Frederick Essen; her aunt Pasha Sloas; and her grandson Patrick Essen.
She is survived by: her children, William Essen (Brenda), Terrence Essen (Rebekah), Mark Essen, Alison Jenkins, Cathleen Miles (Melvin) and Melodie Vinyard (James). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
