He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph Kaplan Sr. and Edna Elizabeth (Gerson); his grandparents, Lara and Louis Gerson; his sister-in-law Carol Kaplan; and his granddaughter-in-law Amy Kaplan.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kaplan; his children, David Kaplan (Melanie), Michael Kaplan (Shelly), Laura Blackwell (Todd) and Marcia Guerrant (Tim); his siblings, Charles Kaplan, Stanley Kaplan (Susan) and Judy Nessen (Leonard); and his grandchildren, Ross Kaplan (Lara), Glenn Kaplan (Ally), Lauren Kaplan (Jon), Brandon Kaplan, Nathan Kaplan (Joy), Steven Pryor (Jessie), Matthew Pryor (Amy), Kevin Pryor (Bailie), Andrew Pryor, Jacob Guerrant (Lindie) and Jessica Willer (Phillip). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
