With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Emmett Shumaker Sr. of Nevada, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold L. Shumaker, Sr. and Virginia Lucille Shumaker (Gowin); his sister May Hutchison; his uncle Bob Gowin (Pat); and his granddaughter Michelle Elizabeth Downen.
He is survived by: his wife Polly Ruth Mills; his children, Henry Shumaker, Jr. of Nevada, Karen Foster of Nevada and Brenda Shumaker of Nevada; and his brothers, Harold Leon Shumaker, Jr. (Margaret), Ralph Shumaker, Sr. (Sandi) and Raymond Shumaker (Brenda). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ferry Funeral Home (301 S Washington St, Nevada, MO 64772). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Ferry Home (301 S Washington St, Nevada, MO 64772).
