He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hively and Veta Hively (Hillquist); and his wife Rita Kay James. He is survived by: his son Russell Kenneth Hively (Sabra) of Neosho, Missouri; and his brother Todd Hively (Judy) of Fargo. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
