He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth McDowell (Ogden); and his children, Bethla Curtis of Neosho, MO, Michael McDowell (Kim) of Afton, OK, Kenneth McDowell (Lori) of Briscoe, TX, Sandra Oliver (Jeff) of Joplin, MO and Gary McDowell of Neosho, MO. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-one great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
