She was predeceased by: her parents, Eldie Smith and Emmajane Smith (Firkins); and her grandson Michael Day. She is survived by: her husband Carrell; her daughters, Emily LaRose (Thomas) of Mt. Vernon and Evangeline Kiser (Seth) of Joplin; and her brother Paul Wesley Smith (Alta) of Independence, Kansas.. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
