It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Ray Thornton of Neosho, Missouri, born in Jasper, Missouri, who passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert L. Thornton and Mary Thornton (Stevenson); and his siblings, Peggy, Shirley, Mary Ann, Frankie, Jack and Albert, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Wanda Scott (James) of Neosho, George Thornton (Chris) of Rogers and Rebecca Cahalan (Jim) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; and his brothers, Steve Thornton of Jasper and Donald Thornton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Clark Funeral Home (312 S Wood St, Neosho, MO 64850). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the New Salem Cemetery (8214 Norway Rd, Neosho, MO 64850).
