He was predeceased by: his father Burness Albert "Cap"; his wife Joy Anise Smith; and his grandson Michael Day. He is survived by: his daughters, Emily LaRose (Thomas) of Mt. Vernon and Evangeline Kiser (Seth) of Joplin, Missouri; and his sister Carolyn Day of Hanibal, Missouri. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
