It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Howard of Neosho, Missouri, born in Galena, Kansas, who passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mansford Oliver Wilson and Emma Olive Gibson Wilson; her husband Eddie Howard; and her siblings, Ernest, Junior, Eldon and Eula Jo.
She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Hames (Don) of Neosho and Beverly Cargile (Lonnie) of Neosho; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Hames (Linda), Donette Baird (Jeff), Chad Hames (De), Adam Hames and Nathan Cargile (Jodi); her siblings, Della Sue Lutz (Pat) of Hutchison and Max Wilson (Carolyn) of Portland, Oregon.; and her grandchildren, Jeff Hames, Ryan Cargile and Brandon Cargile. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery (19883 Jaguar Rd, Neosho, MO 64850).
In remembrance of Barbara's caring spirit, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her honor. Contributions in memory of Barbara may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
