He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Jeff Fails; and his parents, James Reed and Hytia Reed. He is survived by: his children, Laurie Reed Fails and Michael Reed (Pam); his siblings, Talisa Ann Hampton, Patricia Dean Flowers, Kenneth Joe Reed and Jhoncie Reed; his grandchildren, Michael David Reed (Angela), Hope Conley (Brandon), Chance Fails (Katie), Christian Fails and Mariah Gibson (James); and his great grandchildren, Adrian, Zechariah and Micah.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Naylor Pentecostal Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
