He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael James Kowal and Genevieve Skraban Kowal; and his son David Paul Kowal. He is survived by: his wife Verna Lynn Kowal; his children, Kerry Lynn Hunter, Christopher Kowal (Amy) and Richard Kowal (Jennifer); his sister Judy Krueger; and his son Michael Paul Kowal, Jr.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
