He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Lula Burks (Payne) and Alf Burks; and his siblings, Harry Everett Burks, Thurlo Burks, Earl Burks, Dorothy Burks, Raymond Burks, Eva Burks, Ralph Burks, Irene Mattison (Burks), Thurman Burks and Jackie Dean Burks.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Rutledge (Kay); his sons, Jimmie Edward Burks Jr. (Jim Ed) and Jeremy Shaun Burks; his granddaughter Jenna Michelle Burks; and his siblings, Reba Leigh (Burks), Ruth Hightower (Burks), Iva Mattison (Burks), Bonnie Carter (Burks), Erma Cassidy (Burks), Alvin Burks, Linda Sue Rose (Burks) and Wilbur Burks. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Pentecostal Church of God in Mountain View.
