He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carpenter and Bertha Carpenter (Williams); his siblings, Isabelle Lafond and Leonard Carpenter; and his nephew David Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Carpenter of Mountain View, MO; his children, Elizabeth Kirkpatrick (Kevin) of Marion, IL and Robert Carpenter of Marion, IL; his grandchildren, Justin Parker (Kelsey) of Marion, IL, Jesica Smith (Sean) of Marion, IL and Jodi James (Jeremy) of Joliet, IL; his great grandchildren, Victoria Parker, Parker Smith, Bryant Smith of Marion, IL, Jessie James, Lilly James and Jamie James of Joliet, IL; and his sister-in-law Ann Zitter of Mountain View, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
