He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roy and Virgie Lawson; his siblings, James Roy Lawson and Ruby Poe; and his grandchildren, Brian Lawson and Hannah Tiller.
He is survived by: his former wife Deloris M. Cooper; his children, Barry (Kay) of Winona, Terry of Mountain View, Kerry (Mary) of Mountain View and Sherry Smith of Gulfport, Mississippi.; his grandchildren, Aaron Lawson, Adam Lawson, Andrew Lawson, Jared Smith, Jessica McDade, Kevin Lawson, Kris Lawson, Mandy Lawson, Niki Tyler and Riki Lawson; his sisters, Virginia Nettleton of Keyport and Elizabeth Ann Boyer (J. D.) of O'Fallon, Missouri.; and his wife Joan Smith.
