He was predeceased by: his parents, Loman Baker and Rosalie Bane Baker; his wife Kathleen Scofield; his daughter-in-law Charlene Baker; and his brothers, Richard, Philip, Harry and Olan Baker.

He is survived by: his children, Tammy (Nelson Sandoval), Kim (Tim Miller), Joseph Baker (Lynnette Flanders) and Christopher Baker of Mountain Grove, Missouri. He is also survived by one great-great grandson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
