He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Atchison and Nellie Atchison (McGowen); his siblings, Leon Atchison and Betty McGowan (Atchison); and his former wife Zena Atchison.

He is survived by: his sons, Dale Atchison and Dean Atchison (Linda) of Graff; his grandchildren, Brandon Atchison, Luke Atchison (Joni), Chris Atchison (Kyndra) and Kyla Shannon (Chris); his great grandchildren, Wyatt, Hannah, Brody, Piper Atchison, Ollie, Ella Shannon, Liam Morton and Levi Boyd; his siblings, Jack Atchison, George Atchison, Virginia Parker and Noraleen Bressie (Dick); and his brother-in-law Buddy McGowan. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and friends.
