He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Carter and Zelphia Carter (Edwards); his siblings, Lorrita Smith, Eloise Austin and Delbert Carter; and his brother-in-law Farris Austin.
He is survived by: his wife Ladenia; his children, Tina, Clint Dill, Donna, Tony Courtney, Patty and Dr. Michael Ball; his grandchildren, Tabetha Alsup, Larrissa Chisum (Zac), Amanda Owens (Tyler), Carter Courtney, Joe and Emma Ball; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Orion Garrison, Aspen, Eva Housley, Jackson, Dylan, Grace Chisum, Aubrey, Tenley, Tindle and Trey Owens; his siblings, Edwin Carter (June) and Janice Easterwood (Gene); and his siblings-in-law, Greta Carter and Jon Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
