She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelson Garinger and Mildred Garinger (Hartley); her grandmother Judy; her husband Ralph Hood; her sisters, Mary Sue Williams (Paul) and Martha Boyd (Kenneth); and her daughter-in-law JoAnn Hood.
She is survived by: her children, Jane Hood of Springfield, Steve (Pattie Hood) of Springfield, Sheryl Hood of Miller, Phillip Hood of Mt. Vernon and John Hood of Miller, Missouri; her grandchildren, Tricia Stenger (Zack), Bryan C. Hood (Jill), Rachel Schaaf (Jason), Sherilyn Squibb (Rob), Elizabeth Sonora (Chris), Brandon Hood (Michelle) and Sarina Hood; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Grace, Grant, Lauren, Kate, Kyndall, Mason, Weston, Colton, William, Caroline, Jay, Addy, Bryce, Blayne, Gavin, Emma, Jadon, James, Johnathan and Jacob; and her great great grandchildren, Brooks and Lydia. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Summit Baptist Church (16330 Lawrence 2100, Mt Vernon, MO 65712). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 3:15 PM at the Sycamore Cemetery Sycamore Cemetery (14180 Lawrence 2037, Miller, MO 65707).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Summit Baptist Church or Sycamore Cemetery in memory of Judy Hood.
