It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Ann Stevens of Mount Vernon, Missouri, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Velten and Stella Velten; her sister Susan; her niece Christy Stanford; her nephew Troy Colley; and her great-niece Reese Johnson.
She is survived by: her son Nicholas (Jacki); her grandchildren, Lincoln and Cori; and her siblings, Marge Wormington (Richard), David Velten (Paula), Mary Moore (Max), James Velten (Jackie), Carol Blanton (Bert), Karen Porter, Paul Velten (De), Dolores Sappington, Donna Stanford (Larry), Thomas Velten (Debbie), Barbara Oetker (Sherman) and Michele McQuality (Kevin). She is also survived by her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home, 1600 S. Hickory, Mt. Vernon, MO. in care of the funeral home.
