He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Riffel and Rita May Riffel (Walsh); his children, William Riffel and Christine Kline; his sister Betty Vanzant; and his father-in-law Leo Herzing.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Frongello-Herzing; his children, Marianne Nicholes of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, Joe Forsythe (Lisa Powel) of Riverview and Jake Forsythe (Bobbie Jo) of Penn Yan; his mother-in-law Ardelle Herzing of Coudersport, Pennsylvania; and his siblings-in-law, George Herzing of Austin, Pennsylvania, Julie Neffe (Jim) of Mount Holly Springs and Joeleen Standard (Michael) of Woodstock, Illinois.. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
