With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence Richard Steele of Mount Moriah, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 28, 2024 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edgar and Grace Elba Steele (Shaw); and his sisters, Carol (Seitter), Mary Ann (Roy) and Margaret (Muehlbach).

He is survived by: his former wife Helen; his son Dwayne Scott; his former wife Sharon (Wampler); his children, Richard Dean, Chris Pronovost (Bill), Bev Sturtz (Jay), Scott Steele (Jennifer) and Jodi Easter (Eric); his grandchildren, Jessica, Kurtis, Katie, Brittney, Ethan, Sophia and Christopher; his great grandchildren, Haze, Lily, Ellie, Raylon and Nolan; and his cousin Linda Potter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children's Transportation Fund at Abdallah Shriners, 5300 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kansas, 66202, in Larry's name. These donations cover the costs for children to be transported to the Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis for treatments and appointments.
