He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred H. Smith and Louise Smith; and his wife Shirley Fieth Bass. He is survived by: his children, Charles (Teresa) of Glenwood, MO, Stephen (Debbie) of Kansas City and Nancy Kerr of Independence; and his stepchildren, Cheryl Kuehn of Lee's Summit and Steve (Linda) of Raymore. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
