He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Beggs and Irene Beggs (O'Neal); his sons, John Randall Beggs (Faye) and Jeffrey Beggs (Janice); his son-in-law James Scheve; and his sister Phyllis Lloyd (Duane).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Beggs; his daughter Linda Carol Scheve; his grandsons, John Jeremy Beggs (Andrea), Brandon Christian Beggs (Trisha), Jacob Terence Scheve and Jesse Ryan Scheve; and his sister Betty Beggs. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
Herb's body has been donated to science.
