He was predeceased by: his parents, W. D. Cunningham and Pearl Cunningham (Mallon); his wife Wanda Dolliehyde of Atlanta, Georgia.; his son Franklin; his siblings, Kenneth D. Cunningham, Keith A. Cunningham, Segius P. Cunningham, Belva M. Kent, Orpha Lee Cunningham, Marguerite Brandon, Kathleen M. Curran and Betty Lou Cummins; and his half-brother John William "Billy" Halasey.

He is survived by: his son Kendall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
