He was predeceased by: his wife Marvella Jenkins; his parents, John Jenkins and Mary Jenkins; and his brothers, Melvin Jenkins and Dennis Jenkins.

He is survived by: his children, John T. Jenkins (Claudia), Ron D. Jenkins (Tonya) and Robin Jenkins; his sisters, Judith Jenkins, Joyce Snider and Sue Hoganmiller; his grandchildren, Andrew Jenkins (Tara), Hunter Jenkins, Troy Jenkins, Connor Jenkins and Victoria Jenkins; and his great grandchild Wyatt.
